In the beginning

I’ve been a member of Slimming World for some years (on and off) I had some success on the diet before falling pregnant with my first child in 2006, I’d lost over 4 stone but unfortunately put most of this back on during the pregnancy. 

 I rejoined Slimming World a few weeks after giving birth and managed to lose a stone or two (I forget exactly now) but lost my motivation and stopped going for a few weeks.

 I rejoined (again) on 15th November 2007.

I’ve really struggled to get back into the diet and have yo-yo’d since November until last week when something snapped and I decided it was time to stop messing about and actually put some effort into eating well.

Obesity seems to run in my family and I was determined that my daughter would not follow suit and have therefore been very strict with her diet. I put a lot of effort into breastfeeding her, believing that this would decrease her chances of obesity later in life. All her food (from day one) has been homemade and sugar was banned from her diet until she was 1 year old. I still don’t allow her much “junk” food and she enjoys fruit as a treat instead of chocolate and sweets. She’s only 15 months old now but she’s started to notice what I’m eating and wants to share, so this diet is now for her benefit as well as mine…I must practise what I preach.

Last week I lost 0.5lb but I actually went above my joining weight, this last week I’ve followed the diet and feel so much better for it.

Tonight was weigh-day. I lost 3lb and won slimmer of the week.

Total Loss: 2.5lb
